North Kitsap’s Kyle Green named Olympic League MVP

Four Vikings and Four Bucs are on the Olympic All-League team

KITSAP COUNTY — North Kitsap’s Kyle Green was a steady presence in the face of adversity throughout the season for the Vikings.

The junior backstop hit over .540 and drove in more than 30 runs, and he was named the Olympic League’s Most Valuable Player by the league’s coaches. Green was a force throughout the playoffs as North Kitsap won four out of six games in the postseason and finished second at districts.

Last year’s league MVP, Ryan Hecker, bounced back from an injury-plagued start to regain his status as an ace with a 1.97 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 36 innings. Hecker also hit .433 with 19 RBI. Designated hitter/first baseman Tucker Gowin also got the nod for North Kitsap after hitting over .450 this season as the team’s cleanup hitter.
