Spanaway man struck trying to stop his own vehicle from rolling backwards near Chico boat ramp

A Spanaway man was struck by his own car after a mishap on Chico Beach Drive at a boat ramp.

The 22-year-old male exited his vehicle near the corner of Chico Beach Drive and Northwest Meredith Street, but failed to place the vehicle in park. After the driver exited the vehicle, it began to roll backwards.

The man attempted to stop the vehicle and ended up being struck by one of the wheels. He was transported to Bremerton Harrison and the vehicle was towed, but the man was not seriously injured and the vehicle had no reportable damage.
