52 new COVID cases confirmed in Kitsap

On Friday, the Kitsap Public Health District confirmed 52 new cases in the previous 24 hours, bringing the countywide total to 18,914 since the pandemic began in March of 2020.

Of the new cases, North Kitsap had four, and Bainbridge Island five; 14 were in South Kitsap, 19 in Bremerton; and 10 in Central Kitsap.

Over the last week, the county’s case rate per 100,000 residents has dropped to 91.5. A total of 168 cases are in their recommended “isolation period” (10 days after first symptoms.) To date, the number of Kitsap County residents who have initiated vaccination is 71.2%.

Of the 18,914 cases, 675 have been reported on Bainbridge Island, 5,122 in Bremerton, 4,192 in Central Kitsap, 2,919 in North Kitsap and 5,996 in South Kitsap. 10 cases have come from “unknown” areas of the county.

There have been 263 COVID-related deaths since the pandemic began and 217 this year. Of the deaths, 100 were ages 80 and older, 64 ages 70-79, 51 ages 60-69, 33 ages 50-59, 11 ages 40-49 and four ages 30-39.
